Hey all, I was reading this article (https://eng.lyft.com/orchestrating-data-pipelines-at-lyft-comparing-flyte-and-airflow-72c40d143aad) that was written a while ago and it says in it: > By the way, the Flyte community is working on an update that will make it possible to re-use pods across tasks and workflows. That will allow us to run small workloads with lower latencies. Is there any work still ongoing on this? I have seen mention of the Union offering supporting reusable containers, is that where the work ended up or are these two separate things?
f
This is indeed available- but only limited to union today. We are happy to demo and talk about it

Over a period the goal is reusable - everything - including clusters
a
Good to know!
only limited to union today
Is the future of this uncertain, or is it planned to be part of the open source flyte down the road?
f
Uncertain today. It needs extra infrastructure and we do not want to make Flyte need more infrastructure- also not always needed

It letโ€™s you run workflows in milliseconds and millions in number, all without managing infra
