where does one see log link for map_tasks?

what do you see when you select the arrow?

i dont think so.... the logs are being produced
it's just that i cant see any links on UI to access them in a way that as convinennt as python tasks

so as a result i have to do copy-paste pod_name out of task executions and look for logs that way

have you tried clicking any map task under "Succeeded"? that should show you the link.
