Hi Flyte community! I’m Geoff, Data Engineer Lead at DMD. I read a blog post yesterday from Spotify about Flyte. I am actively looking in a replacement for our current orchestration tool (Talend). Looks like Flyte could be a good alternative(!!) I am still unsure how this can integrate in my current solution (I am building Spark jar files that runs in AWS/emr) so I am here to ask questions and work on a POC. Thanks in advance for the support!

Hi everyone, I am an NLP scientist at Enterpret. Currently we are looking to scale our processes. We are looking for tools that abstract Infra and Compute management. We are evaluating based on the following points: • There are multiple tasks in a single flow. • Data needs to be transferred from one task to another task. • Data that needs to be transferred can be huge. So persistance of data at each step of flow (and / or) at the end of the flow is needed. • Should be able to run each task locally manually (For experimentation / debugging purposes) and on cloud (for scaling purposes) • Should be able to run tasks parallely that are independent to each other in a flow. • Should be able to run flows parallely -> Could be useful for running different experiments at same time • Having the ability to monitor the progress of task in a flow, since tasks can take more time • Compute needed for each task in a flow can be different. Ex:Training needs GPU, Data Gathering can work on CPU • Compute used should scale down when no flow is running. • Each step in a flow can have different dependencies. • Learning curve should be less so that data scientists can feel less overwhelmed. I have evaluated Metaflow. But configuring it took a lot of time. Packaging of custom built code is difficult. I was evaluating AWS Sagemaker but the complexity is too high. Can some one help me in understanding the differences between Flyte and Sagemaker. Pros and Cons of both so that I can explain to my team. Would Flyte covers my usecases? I also write blogs on MLOps. Interested in contributing as well. https://ravirajag.dev/

Hey Flyte community 👋 I've been lurking here for a while already. I 've been working on the edge between ML and data engineering at Optimizely. Over the years Ive worked with Luigi, airflow and friends. I find this project very interesting. I am looking for ways to contribute but also looking forward to see how we could use Flyte for pipelines we have at my workplace.

Hello everyone! I work at BentoML, we're an open source solution for production model serving. Been hearing a lot about using flyte for model training recently so I'm doing some research on what an integration would look like. General idea is to use flyte during training, then create a bento with the final model which is then deployed to your cloud of choice

Hi Everyone, nice to meet you! I connected with Ketan on LinkedIn and he invited me to join this space. I am a principal software engineer and tech lead focused on scalable data streaming in Kubernetes, currently working at Optum. I am planning to transition to bioinformatics some day, so I can work on topics such as immunotherapy for treating cancer. Studying ageing is of interest too. I love contributing to open source projects and I’m currently involved in a data streaming project called Benthos (https://benthos.dev). Go is my main programming language, but I used to do C++ before 2016 or so. For further details about my background, here are my LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/mtodor and GitHub http://github.com/mihaitodor profiles.

However, I want to learn more about deploying the deep learning models, and I came across UnionML, which deals with microservices (I am not sure, about how it links to deployment, but would love to know more), and hence thought of joining this slack channel Looking forward to learning and contributing.
